Little taste of Canon

*Excuse grainy iPhone picture!* I’ve always shot with Nikon cameras going back to being a little kid messing around with my dad’s F4, and until recently I’ve never given thought to looking elsewhere. The professional camera bodies from Nikon and Canon realistically produce very similar images, both sell exceptional glass, and neither system will give someone a better eye for a picture. The fierce online debates are really quite laughable. HOWEVER, some reliability issues with my current gear have pushed me into having a little look at what Canon has to offer…

Surf Shoot

Headed down to Sand Bay near Weston-Super-Mare this past weekend to play about with some strobes as a sports feature test shoot. Managed to rope in an old friend who surfs a bit and think we came away with some cool stuff… Check inside for some images (more…) «Surf Shoot»

Gold for Daley in Edinburgh

2013 FINA/Midea Diving World Series Edinburgh Day 3 Apr 21st

Haven’t posted properly since the last diving event well over a year ago – in fact only ever seem spurred to post diving events despite working shooting stuff all the time so now it’ll be much more regular! Flew up to Edinburgh this past weekend for a 3 day stint covering the FINA/Midea Diving World Series at the recently refurbished Royal Commonwealth Pool (affectionately known as ‘the Commie’). A good venue to get a feel for as it will be used for the Glasgow Commonwealth games next year. Tom Daley tends to be the main draw for both fans and the media at any diving event in this country and this was to be his first taste of Senior international competition since the Olympics….. he didn’t disappoint, ending up with a Gold Medal.

If your in the region or just like your sports please check out the promo issue above and if you enjoy there’ll be the first full version coming i’m told before the end of May. Olympics well Underway!

Well I’m here, and the Olympic Games have started in London – been a long time coming! I’m sat on the Victoria Line tube making my way back to Clapham Junction where I’ve the misfortune of staying….. Some good friends have put me up but I’m further out than ideal which means a journey of 45mins to 1hr30 to get to and from the site everyday. It’s tedious to say the least and also means the most sleep I can expect in a night is 5 hours……. (more…) «Olympics well Underway!»

London 2012 Olympics

Olympic Rings

Just a brief note on the Olympics…. So the promised updates to my site haven’t materialised and it’s still ridiculously out of date and completely unrepresentative of my body of work so sorry for that! I’ve just been too busy which is no bad thing at all. The long awaited London Olympics start this week and I’m incredibly happy to be there photographing the whole event for a small UK agency. I’m thinking of blogging to give everyone a small insight from a photographers perspective (IF I HAVE THE TIME), but I’ll be trying my best……
